Boxy, but good. There have been supposed updates to correct problems like this, though, your mileage may vary (mine was supposedly corrected last year, it started happening again this past weekend - well, mine rebooted 3 times.
Is there any other way to check before going to the car agent.

Messages can be shown in different parts of the driver display depending on what other information is currently being displayed.
Had this problem from time to time in its first year, blamed it on connections under the passenger seat (UK).
